Welcome to the 2025 HBC Raiders
Annual Fishing Tournament

The aim of this contest is to make sure you all have a good time and an equal chance to win some excellent prizes. To facilitate that we have a set of rules and regulations, please read them, and make sure you fully understand them.

REGISTRATION:

  • All contestants must each complete an entry form to register, and they will be issued with a numbered angler ticket on full payment of the entry fee.
  • Entry fees payable by internet banking or cash. Internet banking will not be accepted after 27th November 2025. Cash will be accepted up to the 28th of November 2025 which is the night for the briefing. No cash payments will be accepted after briefing night.
  • Once payment is made registration/entry tickets will be sent out to you by email or given to you on briefing night or can be picked up from one of the participating outlets.
  • No prizes will be issued without proof of ID and your numbered angler ticket. Lost tickets cannot be replaced.
  • The organisers reserve the right to cancel the registration of any contestant whose conduct in their opinion is contrary to the spirit in which the fishing competition is run. The decision of the organisers is final, and no refund will be given.
  • Registration constitutes acceptance of the Rules and Regulations covering the competition and all contestants agree to abide by the organizers and judge’s decisions.
  • There are two kids’ sections – The kids’ sections are excluded from all prizes (including spot prizes) except the for the prizes available under the kid’s sections.
  • Kids tickets are only available with a paying adult and all kids are required to have adult supervision.
  • Kids sections – 12 years and under and 13 years to 17 years.
  • There will be a briefing held at the HBC Rugby League Club at 6.30pm Friday night the 28th of November 2025. The club will be open from 5.00pm. We would encourage all anglers to attend. Information of any changes will be issued at the briefing.
  • Registration for the kid’s free tee shirt closes off 23rd of November 2025, Kids can still register up till the 28th of November 2025.

COMPETITION RULES

  • Fishing starts at 4.00am Saturday 29th of November 2025 and finishes at 4.00pm Saturday 29th of November 2025. Weigh in starts at 4.00pm until 5.00pm Saturday 29th of November 2025. If you are not in the line for the weigh in by 5.00pm your fish will not be accepted.
  • Fish must be caught on the day and within the times stated.
  • Limited fish weighed in are donated to the HBC Raiders Fishing Tournament for use in the charity auction.
  • The briefing night and weigh in will be held at the HBC Rugby League Club, 161 Brightside Road, Stanmore Bay, behind the Leisure Centre.
  • There will be boundaries set for the fishing area. There will be no exceptions - Please see attached map, East coast only. This is an honesty policy.
  • Fishing methods acceptable are rod and reel only.
  • Net fishing, long-line, kontikis and spear fishing are not permitted.
  • Fishing can be by boat, kayak, jet ski, beach, or rock.
  • All fishing is to comply with MAF fishing rules and IGFA guidelines.
  • All fish to be weighed in are to be kept on salt ice to preserve the fish.
  • Kingfish and Kahawai to be bled at time of catching fish.
  • Any breach of the rules will result in instant disqualification of the tournament and any future tournaments.

SKIPPER RESPONSIBILITY

  • To ensure they only take the vessel out in conditions that are appropriate to both the vessel and your own skill level.
  • To ensure all safety equipment and lifejackets (one per person) are on board and in good working order.
  • That your vessel is in a safe and good working condition.

Low Tide: 8.14am (0.92m)

WEIGH-IN

  • Weigh-in 4.00pm to 5.00pm Saturday 29th of November 2025
  • Contestants must have their numbered anglers’ ticket and ID to weigh-in fish. No ticket and ID, no weigh-in.
  • Contestants must have their fish weighed-in no later than 5.00pm or be in the weight-in queue by 5.00pm.
  • The competitions organizers and weigh-master’s decision are final and binding for all contestants.
  • Only legal fish will be accepted to weigh-in.

PRIZES

  • The Competitions Organizers decision is final.
  • If two or more fish of equal weight become eligible for a prize, these fish will go into a draw to determine the winner.
  • Prizes are as offered and are not redeemable for cash value and can change at any time.
  • Winners must be at prize-giving with their numbered angler ticket and id to receive any prizes. If not, prizes will be redrawn
  • Prizes become the responsibility of the winners once they have received them.

  • Prize given will be at 6.00pm 29th of November 2025 at the HBC Rugby League Club.
  • Where no fish are entered in a category the prizes will be drawn at random from registered anglers eligible for that category IE: Adult or kids’ section.

CANCELLATION OR POSTPONEMENT

  • Cancellation of the tournament may occur at the organiser’s discretion due to unfavourable weather conditions or winds over 25 knots. The prize-giving will continue at the advertised time and all prizes will become Spot Prizes with all numbered anglers in with a chance to win. Prizes will however be separated into Adult and Kids sections.
  • Cancellation or postponement will be updated on HBC Raiders website – www.hbcraiders.co.nz , facebook – Hibiscus Coast Raiders Masters or by email.

LIQUOR

  • As the venue for the weigh-in and prize-giving is licensed, BYO alcohol is not permitted. Please respect this rule – confiscation is unpleasant for everyone. Drunken and disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated – you risk disqualification and removal from the event. We encourage responsible consumption of alcohol.  

DISCLAIMER

  • The organizers reserve the right to change or amend the competition at any stage, subject to advice from its legal or technical advisers, recommendations from the Maritime Authorities or in the interest of public safety.
  • The competition organizers HBC Raiders Fishing tournament, their sponsors, and officials shall have no liability in connection to this tournament for any damage caused by any vehicle, boat or other property, or loss of property, or personal injury, or damage whatever nature or kind however caused.
  • By entering this competition all entrants agree to having their details passed onto our sponsors. This information is confidential between HBC Raiders Fishing Comp and our sponsors.
